Meet the makers
Hi there! We are Clover Rua, Anita Elliott and Martin Gleeson, a Dublin based design duo. With backgrounds in Textiles and Graphic Design, we’ve come together to produce the design work we love, work that proudly celebrates our country’s heritage and culture. Our work is our passion and it’s been a very rewarding journey.
Our products have been awarded ‘Best Homeware product’ at Showcase 2014 and been listed amongst Condé Nast Traveller’s Best Irish Souvenirs.
Anita
Anita studied Textiles at Ireland’s National College of Art and Design. It was here that she first created a textile collection inspired by the Architecture of Dublin City.
A dream job in textiles soon followed with work in London, Paris and Germany before eventually setting up her own studio in Sydney Australia. Whilst working and lecturing in design there, a collaboration with Pike Withers for the luxury Bedarra Island Hotel, drew attention and acclaim from Australian Vogue Magazine.
Anita’s work has been curated at galleries throughout the world but the draw of her homeland never left her. She returned to Ireland and took a step back from lecturing to realise her dream of creating her own Irish giftware brand, and so Clover Rua was born.
Anita lives in Dublin with her husband and daughter, has a daily yoga habit and a limitless love for vivid colour, bold prints, inks and fabrics.
